PERFORATED LANDSCAPE 2 -- New York City, New York (June 22, 2024) -- Sunlight streams through a steel wall on Pier 26 in New York's Hudson River Park. A version of this picture won an award in the 2025 NAA Juried Photography Show. The Juror, Cara Weston, said: "This is a wonderful image. I was fascinated with each circle holding a single element of the scene. Rather than one, you are gifted a multitude of images that together tell the story of the scene."

ROUGH HOLDS THE SMOOTH - West Newbury, MA (April 26, 2026) - An ocean-polished white stone and a smooth piece of cast-up coral are embedded in the thick, deeply furrowed bark of an old black locust tree.
DOUBLE-LOCKED - Brighton, England (July 5, 2024) - This is a detail of the double-locked and dead-bolted door of the Tina Davies Art Gallery, with permission of the door artist. The juxtaposition and contrast of the hard steel padlocks with the free-flowing softness of the painted poppy flowers and bright blue background is striking. The shop is located on the lower promenade of Brighton England's seafront Esplanade.
STANDING STONE AND SUNRISE SHADOW - Barnard, VT (July 5, 2026)
SPRING THAW - North Adams, Massachusetts (March 21, 2021) - The ice-imprisoned Notch Brook is transformed as winter turns to spring. The melting ice thins, turns translucent and blue-tinted, and opens gradual windows on the cold water running off the slopes of Mt. Greylock.
PORTRAIT OF GABBY AND FINNIGAN - Douglas, New Brunswick (August 10, 2025) - A spaniel and children sit closely around their mother for a moment. The midday sun streams through a window and brushes their hair with light.
MOUNTAINTOP GOODWILL AMBASSADOR - Albany, New Hampshire (September 21, 2022) - This warm and friendly dog's person can barely restrain him from making his way over to greet strangers on the top of Mt. Chocorua.
ONCE A TALL TREE - Newburyport, Massachusetts (April 20, 2026) - A massive piece of driftwood lies on the northern tip of Plum Island, cast up by the relentless sea and sculpted by wind, sand, water, and fire. It rears its head high above the beach.
ANCIENT ONES - Sedona, Arizona (January 11, 2026)
MONA LISA IN THE MAPLE LEAVES - Newburyport, Massachusetts (October, 2010) - An old photograph recently found, scanned, and made new in monochrome. The girl's expression is ambiguous, somewhere on the boundary between serenity and melancholy.
A JOYFUL SPLASHING - Scarborough, Maine (April 26, 2026) - These two friends sprinting along Higgins Beach in Scarborough, Maine are running right out of the frame. Their exit stage right places our focus on the speed and exuberant splashes kicked up in their happy wake.
STRIPED BY THE SUN - Newburyport, Massachusetts (May 5, 2026) - A couple relaxes on the swinging benches at Newburyport's central waterfront on an unseasonably warm spring day. This ordinary moment is amplified by the striping of sunlight on their clothing and bodies. Their little dog does not want to rest and is having his own separate moment down below.
SUMMER SOLSTICE WHOOPIE PIE EATING CONTEST - Rockland, Maine (June 21, 2026) - For over two decades, the Rockland Cafe has hosted an oversized-whoopie-pie eating contest, part of an annual street party celebrating the first official day of summer. There is a lot of hilarity as the participants try to stuff their faces as fast as possible.
